Expand Your Karma
EXPAND YOUR KARMA – June 5th at Atlas!!! June 4, 2010
Celebration of Life 2010 May 18, 2010
Another fantastic event took place on Sunday in Paris. Elizabeth worked her magic pulling together so many fascinating people to make her AED fundraiser a success. There was reiki, reflexology, registered massage, thai yoga massage, henna/mehndi, a silent auction, wonderful food and free demonstrations of Nia, Zumba and more! It was a power packed 3 hours that’s for sure!
I had a blast. This event Steve (my boyfriend and now faithful assistant) came with. He was so good I couldn’t thank him enough. While I worked he helped people who were waiting, showing them the pictures of my work, chatting them up so that everyone had some attention. I’m so well supported, what more could I ask for! And what’s even a little bit more exciting is that now that he’s seen what I do in more live action then just he and I at home, he’s coming up with ideas to make what I do easier!
I came home tonight to find a DIGITAL PICTURE FRAME cycling through pictures of mehndi from the Lutherwood event!!! I have to be the luckiest girl! If not, I at least have the bestest boyfriend and at future events will have the most impressive technological display
Here are the pictures: (NOTE: the rat was requested by the cutest little girl… she has a pet rat at home… I have to say that such an unexpected request has quickly become a favorite!)

Wellness Day 2010 May 17, 2010
I had the pleasure of providing Henna to some of the staff at Lutherwood’s Mental Health Services Wellness Day. It was a really fun event. Everyone was so interested and open to letting me do my thing.
I think that Mehndi proved to be a great activity for letting people relax and let go, and was a great compliment to the beautiful manicures being done at the other end of the table.
Here are some of the pictures:
stay tuned for pics from the next event

Events! May 7, 2010
Wow. I just have to start like that. I feel incredibly blessed.
I have been fortunate enough to be included in 3 great events.
Next week I’ll be helping to bring wellness to the Mental Health Services staff of Lutherwood, a few days later I’ll be supporting the awesome findraising skills of Elizabeth’s Celebration of Life at Paris District High School and in August I’ll be showing Kitchener Youth what’s what at Unity Jam. And all with my mad Henna skillz!
I’m so excited to share this with others. It’s become such a powerful
creative outlet for me and I really hope that it’s as transformative for the reciever as it is for me.
I’ll be adding some new pictures to the Henna page soon. Just have to get through our weekend move!

wow-wee April 20, 2010
It’s a busy time for everyone I think.
Vacation was great but that it’s right back into the working, teaching, mehndi, packing, living life!
I attended a fabulous channeling session with my sister recently. One message that really stood out to me was on about how times are changing. Soon the few won’t have to carry the many. The focus will be on holding people individually accountable for their actions and responsibilities so that we might all carry our own weight and evolve together into the more enlightened times ahead.
I feel like myself and many of the people around me have been ahead of the curve in this regard. We’ve always wanted to carry our weight and assist those around us in doing the same. Not by force but by example.
Be an example… be the few!
Vacation! March 30, 2010
I’m in Daytona (for pleasure not for business) from Wednesday March 31st until Tuesday April 6th.
My Saturday classes are covered and the remainder are cancelled. The studio is closed Sunday and Monday for Easter!
Have a great long weekend

Henna-holic March 30, 2010
So one of my exciting trainings (that I hinted at last post) was a Henna workshop.
What an incredible group of women. I knew it was right when we were going around introducing ourselves and all the ladies were into the same things I was (a yoga teacher, a reiki practitioner, etc). I had butterflys!
The instructor, Larissa of Dragonfly Designs Henna (www.atlantichenna.com check her site, her work is BEAUTIFUL) and our host Holly of Henna by Holly (www.hennabyholly.com) were so knowledgeable and passionate! I learned so much.
Now I want to henna everyone ![]()
I’m going to create a henna page on here so you guys can see what I’ve done so far and then hopefully book me to come practice on you! Currently I’m doing it for free to practice and build a portfolio.

Coming together! March 18, 2010
So I’m beginning to have that feeling like things are coming together. Slowly but surely the heaviness that was around not long ago is lifting. We all seem a little more on the same page (I actually just typed “sane page”… Freudian slip???) than we did a month or so ago.
Classes are picking up and I’m feeling good about my path and where I’m going. I have some amazing trainings lined up and some fantastic inquiries for teaching, office yoga and more! Oh and my body is healing! My knee doesn’t hurt anymore and neither does my hip.
Hope that whomever reads this can take a few moments to think about what’s going well for you right now and just give a little Om to however that came to be

iPhone Lego App March 12, 2010
So how cool is this?!
I’m a kid who grew up with lego and when I saw this app I had to download it. I think it creates a really neat effect. There are many colour combinations that you can change your photos to… it’s just fun! Nutures my inner child
I call this one “Bakasana in Lego”

40 Day Challenge: On Hold March 11, 2010
So in an effort to do the best thing for myself I’m putting my commitment on hold for the time being. I’ve been having a significant amount of knee and hip pain. I hoped that I could correct it myself during my practice but I’m slowly discovering that something in my own practice must be contributing to this. Even being a teacher it’s difficult to correct your own misalignment. Almost like when you try to edit your own work. You read it over and over and think it’s perfect and then someone emails you and says “did you mean this or that?” Side bar: the worst is when I apply for a job and realize a week later there was an obvious typo in my resume or coverletter!
Anyways… So I’m taking it easy. Going back to basics and seeking support and guidance from my teachers to ensure my practice is strong and healthy. Because if I don’t take care of your teacher, who will?
I also have to say out loud (or write in a public place) that it’s a real challenge to have to publicly give up my challange. I can hear my Grandad saying “finish what you start” (mind you he was always refering to the colouring page I just flipped). It is a practice for me to honour my needs over my commitments. I know this is no shock to those who know me best, but I need to say it and put it to bed. I live to help, be busy, give what I can to anyone who needs it. Right now I’m getting better at putting myself in that category too. I need me. I need me to take care of me.
